Isaiah 55:8 the Lord says, “My thoughts are not like your thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways.”

Have you read about the walls of Jericho collapsing, or all the plagues the Egyptians experienced? Or, how about God’s promise in the Old Testament he would send a Messiah? Few people expected a Messiah like Jesus (Isaiah 53; Matthew 1)!  What about the surprise of the empty tomb or even now, how God’s Spirit in us catches us by surprise? Aren’t we glad God isn’t bound by our thinking? Our God is a big, loving, God of relationship and problem solving! How great it is we don’t have to have all the answers and the One who knows us best does. We don’t have to understand; we just need to trust God with our future. Knowing God thinks bigger than we do is a wonderful promise to hold!
