Prison. Captivity. Tragedy. Insecurity. Abuse. Losses. Depression. Sickness. The list of places darkness dwells seems endless. The news reveals more darkness. As the world seems to spiral out of control, how do we maintain inner peace? Can we even hope for a better future? The answer to that question is it depends on where we focus, where we find our inner strength.

Light shines in the darkness. The sun rises each morning breaking the night’s darkness. Birds sing their songs and children laugh encouraging us to join them. Most importantly however, God with us. His faithfulness to what he promised is proven over and over through the scriptures. His light in our lives can repel the darkness and remind us there is always hope.
